How to Become a Deer Farmer in KY

Contact and schedule farm visits with existing KALA members who are always eager to help and share their knowledge (visit as many farms as you can to obtain diverse perspectives, recommend minimum of three different members to visit/contact)

Construct your fencing according to the requirements outlined HERE by Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife and schedule an inspection from the contact within your region, seen at the link below

During this process you will also submit an application to KDFWR and Kentucky Department of Agriculture. (Obtain more info at the KDFW website and the KDA website.


Find and purchase the right livestock from a reputable KALA member that meets your needs using the KALA Member Directory
